Ecco il Back to school con gli zaini scolastici ecosostenibili

Here's Back to School with eco-friendly school backpacks

We've become accustomed to it: a good portion of school stationery, from recycled notebooks to refillable pens to plantable pencils, offer eco-sustainable stationery solutions beneficial for the planet.

Over time, ecological awareness has become more refined, but there's one item that still struggles to keep up: it dictates fashion in terms of style but remains largely oblivious to the environment.

It's the school backpack, which reinvents itself every year with increasingly high-performing colors and gadgets, and which, finally, has also found some green versions.

We've found a few.

Bodypack

French company operating since 2001. They produce school backpacks for all ages, guaranteed for 3 to 10 years. In 2020, Bodypack offset over 30,000 kg of CO2.

The products are often made from recycled PET plastic, and sustainability values are indicated on their website.

Ergobag

For over 10 years, their philosophy has been "from bottle to backpack," using recycled PET. The buckles are made from castor oil, and the shoulder strap padding is made with algae-based foam. In production, they strive to eliminate their environmental impact by offsetting the CO2 produced through climate protection programs. They also ensure that fair working conditions are met throughout the supply chain.

MUST

A Greek company that has been operating in the field of stationery and school product production for years, offering a series of environmentally friendly products that predominantly use recycled PET.

SATCH

A company very attentive to ergonomics, the environment, and respect for workers.

They produce using recycled PET and ensure that materials and suppliers throughout the supply chain have the Bluesign® label to guarantee respect for the environment and reduce their impact on nature.

They also use Econyl, nylon obtained from plastics recovered from the sea.

DEUTER WALKER

The Walker series is the most suitable for school needs. Deuter products are very environmentally conscious, using PET. Not only that: for thirty years, they have relied on a manufacturing partner who supports them in certifying eco-sustainability.

RAVEN

A brand born in a small Swedish village, it produces sustainably, paying great attention to materials. They use PET, 100% recycled polyester, wool, cotton, and leather are sourced non-cruelly and with the utmost attention to animal welfare.

FREITAG

They started using truck tarpaulins to make backpacks and bags; the philosophy of recycling and reuse then extended to all other accessories. They produce bags from airbags and phone cases from ski boots. Design, style, and recycling in every product.

Paying attention to the environment is a significant commitment. Surely, with some of these products, it will feel lighter.

What accessories and school backpack did you choose for school?
